Upgrade CPU :motherboard leonite P5LP-LE

Hi, i have an HP desktop a6000 series with an Intel core 2 duo E4300.
I upgraded the OS from windows vista to Windows Seven, added 2gb of RAM (now 3gb)and added SSD.
I tried to change the CPU with an Intel core 2 duo E6700 but the PC won't boot , the video don't start.

Try pulling the motherboard battery to reset CMOS.

Let the PC sit for about 10 minutes before reinstalling the battery.

You may also want to remove the new RAM to eliminate any unnecessary variables.

Additional thoughts:

NO POST means two possible reasons.

The new CPU is not compatible. Or you need a BIOS update from HP. The EPS power supply connector is not connected to the board or the 24 pin power connection is not firmly seated.

The CPU installation has bricked the MB or processor. Try reinstalling the factory CPU to see if it will POST.

The Core 2 Duo E4300 is a Socket 775 processor, based on Allendale core.

That is good to see. No pin damage or ESD has occurred.

Check for HP BIOS update to enable the new processor. If you need assistance let me know. If HP does not provide a BIOS update to support the replacement processor it will not work.

You will have to provide the full product name of the PC. HP makes many variations of the Pavilion a600. Different motherboards may be used. Your specific PC's motherboard may or may not be capable of using the E6700.

The HP Leonite P5LP-LE specs show support for the E6x00 processor.

Both processors (links provided by REO51ST) are Socket 775 and have a TDP of 65 watts.

It's all about support for the E6700 in the BIOS at this point.
