HP Elite 7300 MT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I would like to upgrade my GPU of the HP Elite 7300 MT, but realized that it seems more complicated than I thought.

My current GPU is HD 2000, and I already checked userbenchmark for the most common GPUs.

https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Elite-7300-Series-MT/2247

The best GPU mentioned there is GT 545, but it is not available in any online store.

What other GPUs are compatible and would significantly improve the Graphic Experience?

Thank you in advance,

Peter

Hi, Peter:

Yes it is pretty complicated nowadays to select the right graphics card.

It used to be if your PC had a PCIe x16 slot and the power supply that met the requirements of the graphics card, you were good to go.

Now, unfortunately the BIOS version your PC has is critical to what cards you can install.

If I am not mistaken your PC has a legacy BIOS and it has BIOS revision of 7.xx or older, correct?

There are no BIOS updates for your model on the support page, so I can't even check what is the latest BIOS revision for it.

If your PC does not have a BIOS revision 8.xx or newer, you can only install a legacy graphics card.

Nvidia GT 6xx or older, AMD HD 6xxx or older.

You probably have to buy one of these type cards in used but tested and working condition on eBay.

I don't think they sell them new anywhere anymore.
