Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-2270nd. I like to upgrade my GPU to a GeForce RTX 3060/4060. What do I have to upgrade within my desktop to install this GPU? I see that this GPU needs a 8-pins power connection at a minimum of 550 wattage. I see that I have one PCIe x16 left, so that is enough to place the GPU. The doubt I have is regarding the power connection that it needs.
Kind regards,
Youri

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Of the two graphics cards you listed, I would go with a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable such as this example, which has a lower TDP (115-watt), about the same price as an RTX 3060 and has better graphics performance, and can be powered with either the 350-watt power supply (p/n: M49611-001) which is equipped with one 6+2-pin PCIe power cable and the 500-watt power supply (p/n: L81009-800) which is equipped with one 6+2-pin and one 6-pin PCIe power cables.

@NonSequitur777
My Desktop has a 310-watt Gold Efficiency power supply. If I read your post than I have to upgrade to a 350- or 500-watt?
I see that the GPU you mentioned suggest a PSU of 300-watt, but is there any danger if my PSU is only 310-watt?

Yes. A 310-watt power supply may not be able to properly power an RTX 4060. You'll be risking graphics stutterings and such. Besides, I don't think your 310-watt power supply is equipped with an 8-pin PCIe power cable -but even if it does, it would be too borderline to power an RTX 4060.
Personally, I would be inclined to go for the 500-watt power supply, if only because it can power a smaller-sized RTX 4060 Ti such as this model.

Thanks again!
Do you have any advice where's best to buy the 500-watt power supply?
The link you provided says: "The following part(s) you entered were not found or not orderable:<BR>L81009-800 (Part is not orderable, HP Part Resellers may help.)"

@NonSequitur777
I found this one:
L05757-800
HP
GNRC PSU 500W ENT17 FR GLD
Price: 98,76 euro
And the one you mentioned:
L81009-800
HP
GNRC PSU 500W WS20 FR Gold
Price: 110,30
Is there a big difference between the two or is the one of 98,76 euro good for me?
