Hello,

I want to ask which card is compatible with my system. I want to buy some of the best graphic card, because of need for rendering. I want to buy some RTX 2080 or anything similar, but i dont know whether it is necessary to track only source (500W) and size information? I am looking for something like these : https://www.alza.cz/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2080-super-gaming-oc-8g-d5646321.htm#discussionPosts

[edit]web page has more information on doing SLI with the 1080. Actually as pointed out it really is not much of a performance boost surprisingly enough. The best solution is to replace the 1080 with a GTX 1080Ti. As the page states that would be about a 25% boost over the 1080. And a 1080 SLI setup is only about 10% better than a single 1080Ti. It can get very confusing.

As you are aware you have a 500W PSU and the RTX 2080 requires a 650W PSU. However the RTX 2070 , which requires a 550W PSU, would probably be fine in your system.  And the 2070 would outperform the 1080 for rendering by about 18 - 20% or so. It all depends if you feel a 20% faster card is worth the expense.

Thank you very much JJOcean for your reply! You are right, now i see that all rtx 2080 has recommended power supply 650W. I didnt know about this fact. If it will be only about 20% it does not make sense for me.

My target is not to change graphic card for better one, but Add to the second slot and join the old gtx 1080. Is this situation on same level with performance if i would use 2070 for addition to 1080?  And can the power supply with 500 W manage this:) ?

Thank you again, you helped me already!

Thank you again for your help. You helped me a lot. My final solution will be adding GTX 1080 Ti to my standard HP GTX 1080 witch SLI bridge. If i get it right, it should be the best option for the best GPU performance (i do renderings, 3d graphics, vizualizations). I also need to upgrade my PSU to 800W.

IF all of this is correct, This case is closed and thank you again for your help!
