Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an amazing HP All In One (AIO) Desktop called Elite One, Generation 3 (G3).

However, as the Graphics Board only have 1 GB some games are lagging.

But, as I overall absolutely love this computer I would prefer upgrading Graphics Board to 2 GB, but do not find any replacement/upgrade spare parts online.

Can anyone help me please 🙏

There are good DIY videos online of how to get to the board itself by removing back cover etc.

@JonasModin -- However, as the Graphics Board only have 1 GB, some games are lagging

Trying to remedy "lagging" is not a simple process.

First, physically, where are you located, and where is the game-server located?

Use the Windows TRACERT command to show the path your Internet packets take from your computer to the game-server and back. Compare to driving from a farm outside of Seattle to a farm outside of Portland -- the speed of your vehicle will vary greatly -- very slow in the driveway, slow on the "backroads" to connect to the Interstate 5 highway, fast on the highway, and then slow on the Oregon backroads to the other farm, and very slow in the target driveway. So, while your speed on Interstate 5 is "high", there are some "lag" points on the route.

Second, while running your game, use CTRL-ALT-DELETE to open the Windows "Task Manager".

Switch to its "Performance" tab, to see "CPU" and "RAM" and "DISK" and "NETWORK" usage.

If your CPU is running at 100%, then it could be the "bottleneck".

If your RAM is over 75% in-use, then more RAM might relieve the "bottleneck".

If your disk-drive is a "spinning" disk-drive, and it's transferring Megabits/second, then replacing it by a SSD (Solid State Device) will easily handle, more quickly, that "load".

If your NETWORK activity is reaching the speeds that your contract with your Internet Service Provider is supposed to be delivering, talk to your provider to upgrade to a faster speed.

Tell us the above percentage-numbers that you are seeing.

All the above components (except a faster CPU) are relatively inexpensive, especially when comparing to spending $500 (or more) for a "high-end" graphics adapter card.

Hello @JonasModin
if you want a precise answer, you have to give the exact model of the computer.
Also give two, three examples of games used

To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information

we need the exact model of your computer, and the product number
To find it follow this

and for a laptop
HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Product Name or Number? | HP® Customer Support

Give the full name with the product number P / N

this is not a model:
HP Desktop M01-F1xxx
the requested product number must look like this
Product Number: 9EE50AA # ABA
the model corresponding to this number will therefore be
HP Desktop - M01-F1033wb

Hi.

Thank you for your kind response and guidance.

My CPU is running above 70% often near 100.

RAM around 90%

The SSD is fine, om 1%

The network looks fine

But GPU/graphics at 95%

The AIO Desktop is specifically called EliteOne 800 3G 23.8-in Touch, TPC-P065-23

Thank you for your help. I truly appreciate it 🙏

hi

I don't know if this is sufficient to identify the computer , but see this, if it is this type of computer:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-eliteone-800-g3-23.8-inch-non-touch-all-in-one-pc/15292420/d...
we just see this

Optional
AMD Radeon RX 460 2 GB GFX (requires 500 W chassis)
note:
Must be configured at purchase.

there are currently problems with the site, difficult to access the documents, but if it is this model, it may be very complicated or even impossible

, you need more ram probably

how much you have ?

Hi.

Again, thank you for your kind response.

Following a screen shot of the specs:

@JonasModin -- is this your computer: HP EliteOne 800 G3 All-in-One Business PC (23.8-inch Touch and Non-Touch) Specifications | HP® Custo...

It indicates that your CPU has 4 cores, each running at 3.4 Ghz (with turbo-boost to 3.8 Ghz),

and requires DDR4-2400 SODIMM RAM, up to  16 GB per socket, with 2 sockets, giving a maximum of 32 GB.

So, definitely, more RAM will improve your computer's performance.

If you have one empty RAM socket, add 16 GB, to give you a total of 24 GB.

If that is not enough, remove the 4GB stick, and add another 16 GB stick, to achieve the 32 GB maximum.

Does your chosen computer-game support the simultaneous usage of your 4 cores?

I expect that it would be very expensive to find a CPU that is faster than 3.4 Ghz per core.

My choice would be to replace/upgrade the RAM, because such an update is less-expensive than replacing the GPU.

Did you run the TRACERT command, to show the Internet path between your computer and the game-server?  Please post the results.

@JonasModin

I do not know if this allows to identify the model
but see the hp documents

If you want another graphics card it seems a bit complicated to me, I haven't looked at everything, but I haven't seen anything about it
take a look, because I went through the document quickly

As for the memory, see what it can cost you, but 16 gb it can be more than enough
This is what I have and I have more than enough even in the game

Unfortunately I am afraid that you may not be able to add a graphics card at least easily if possible
