I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card in my PC.  It currently has a NVIDIA GTX 1070 and I'm looking at replacing it with either a RTX 2070 or RTX 2070 super or RTX 2080, for better gaming.

So: will they all fit in the computer size wise

Will it be compatible with the power supply (500w)

Is the cooling system sufficient

Is the processor (i7-8700 3.20ghz) compatible

Are there any other problems anyone else can foresee if I swap the graphix card.

Many thanks

@NIKII135 , welcome to the forum.

Q:  will they all fit in the computer size wise

A:  You will have to measure the space where the card will be installed from the Back I/O ports to the front of the case.  This will allow you to see if any of the other components will interfere with the installation.  There has to be enough space to allow for good airflow.  These cards are very heavy; especially the RTX 2080's.  Some of them even have brackets to keep them for sagging.

I suggest that you choose a video card manufacturer and go to their website to check the length of their cards.  I like MSI products.  Here is one of their RTX 2070 cards.  You should look at the Specifications tab.  The card requires at least 550W and 1x8 pin and 1x6-pin power connectors.  The card is 11.61" in length.

Once you know if the cards will even fit into the case, I will answer the other questions.

Hi

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you, I had to wait until my son wasn't using it.

Ok the existing graphics card is about 266mm in length; 100mm wide & 35mm in depth.

i took some photos of the existing graphics card - I'm not sure if that helps?

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thank you for the additional information, @NIKII135!

Here is a very good RTX 2070 on Newegg, as I stated in my previous post.  Look at the tab titled "Specifications".  Toward the bottom of the page are the measurements of the card.  It is a good example of the size of most 2070 and 2080 cards with twin fans.  They get longer with more fans.  Make certain that the current power supply unit (PSU) in the computer has the appropriate supplemental power connector/s (1x6-pin, 1x8-pin or both).  This is very important.

Note:  When looking at specifications for any components I like to use Newegg.com.  They normally have the best information.
