Hello,
I'm currently looking to upgrade my PC Tower for better performance and graphics, mainly for online gaming.
I'm just a Computer User, not a Computer Programmer or Engineer so I don't really know the Technical aspects. The online game I play a lot has these specs:
Windows
Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Windows 7
- CPU: Dual Core @ 2.0 GHz
- RAM: 2 GB
- Video: AMD Radeon 2600 XT or NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS
Recommended System Configuration:
- OS: Windows 10
- CPU: Intel i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.6 GHz or greater
- RAM: 16 GB or higher
- Video: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060, AMD Radeon RX 580 or better with at least 4 GB VRAM
The minimum requirements basically has all game settings on low. The recomended system allows all game settings on high. The recomended system was recently updated due to new game content.
This is my computers current set up:
1 - Intel Pentium G620 Processor 3MB Cache, 2.60 GHz
1 - NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 1GB DDR3 FH
1 - 4GB PC3-10600 Memory (1x4GB)
1 - 500GB 7200RPM SATA-3G 1st Hard Drive
1 - HP SATA 16X SuperMulti #1 Drive
I'd like to upgrade the Intel Processor but don't know which type the MotherBoard can handle.
I've been looking at installing a Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 Mini Video Card but don't know if it's compatible.
I'd like to increase the RAM to 16GB (2x8GB) but not sure what type to use.
My Hard Drive still has plenty of space available and the Disk Drive is still basically new due to being rarely used. I don't know what the MotherBoard is rated for and I don't want to completely rebuild the computer or buy another one. I know my computer can be upgraded to perform much better and I'd like to keep the price down without going all out.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Yeah I was mistaken when I looked inside and saw 2 slots with one 4GB RAM installed, I actually thought it could be replaced with 8GB and since there are 2 slots, figured it could be doubled.
As for the Graphics card I listed, I have no idea if it will fit, I don't even know what GDDR3 verses GDDR5 means or what the difference is between GeForce models GT and GTX.
Like I said, I'm not a computer programmer or engineer, I'm just a user so I don't really know what can and can't be done to it.
By comparing the items on the link you posted to what I currently have installed, it looks like I went with a mid range choice when I ordered the computer back in Jan 2012.
I checked Amazon and found the items on the list you linked to upgrade this computer for about $100. I ordered another 4GB Memory card and a Core i3-2100 Processor. However instead of getting a GeForce GT 530 (2 GB) DDR3 card for $75 (not many available), I ordered a GeForce GT 710 (2GB) DDR3 card for $45. It uses the same power consumption so I won't have to upgrade the Power Supply Unit.
The game I play is called Eve Online and they just recently raised their recomended system specs. I'm going to look into purchasing a refurbished computer that's close to those recomended specs later on.
Thanks again for posting the link and for taking the time to help.

Specs relevant to your system & list of possiable upgrade options.

Thanks for the link. Those various items were available when I ordered the computer. The price of the computer was adjusted depending on which items were selected.
So are those my only options for upgrading this computer?

The first thing I noticed about your system & your comments, is that you wanted to increase your RAM to 16GB. According to your specs page, the max your system can handle is 8GB. Then there is the prossessior, it can be increased, but one would not gain very much in doing so.
Mind you I've pointed out the RAM increase as well as part of the prossessior. I've yet to touch on other possiable issues that could occur when adding an altertive video card. The power supply would need to be replaced, is there room for the new video card etc. Computers today are defiantly running faster and more effeicant. In otner words, it would be more suitable to save your money and purcahse a better & faster system than it would to spend that much time or money on minimal upgraded components.
BTW: The specs for the game seem to be that of wow (world of warcraft) if one has the link to their required or recommended specs & video cards, I would compare cards and specs to achieve he best possiable systems as the wow specs are ever changing. One min a video card is at the top of the list, a few months later it's been removed from this based on reported issues from gamers like you.
The objective is to find a happy medium between the system specs, required sp3cs and what video cards are avaible to you. RAM is also important at this point. But again, newer systems allow for more RAM with more slots avaible to you. Just be wise on pairing up the RAM when purchaing.
