ENVY TE01-0014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Would like to add video card - preferably beyond the 30W Nvidia GT1030.  However, the 180 W PSU is a little light power-wise.  I see that HP has now gone the proprietary route on motherboards and power supplies - it appears.

Are there any options to upgrade the PSU?  Also, I am a computer/electronics hobbyist for 35+ years, so wouldn't shy away from an alternate solution.

Thank you.

@DeeJay76 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to upgrade the graphics card.

(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)

I have checked the specification of the graphics card the minimum power requirement is 300w.

In that case, you have to change the power unit that support to the graphics card.

I would suggest you contact our phone support. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
