Hi @Gail920,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Upgrading the RAM in your HP All-In-One 22-dg0024 can significantly improve its performance. Here are the steps and details you need to ensure compatibility and a smooth upgrade process.

Specifications and Compatibility

  1. Current Configuration: Your HP All-In-One 22-dg0024 currently has 4GB of RAM.
  2. Maximum Supported RAM: This model typically supports up to 16GB of RAM, depending on the specific motherboard configuration.
  3. Type of RAM: This model uses DDR4 SODIMM (Small Outline Dual In-line Memory Module) RAM.
  4. Speed: The RAM speed should match the existing module, which is likely DDR4-2666 (2666 MHz).

Recommended RAM

For upgrading to 8GB, you have two main options:

Adding an Additional 4GB Module:

  • Ensure the new module matches the speed and type of the existing RAM.
  • This method works if there is an available slot.

Replacing the Existing 4GB Module with an 8GB Module:

  • This might be necessary if there is only one slot available or to avoid potential compatibility issues.

Purchasing Recommendations

When buying online, look for these specific features:

  • Type: DDR4 SODIMM
  • Capacity: 8GB (if replacing) or 4GB (if adding to existing)
  • Speed: 2666 MHz

Here are some compatible options.

Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM:

  • Model: CT8G4SFS8266
  • Reliable and widely compatible with HP systems.
  • Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666

Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM:

  • Model: KVR26S19S8/8
  • Another reputable brand known for compatibility.
  • Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666

Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM:

  • Model: CMSX8GX4M1A2666C18
  • Known for performance and reliability.
  • Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR4-2666

Installation Steps

  1. Turn Off and Unplug the Computer: Ensure the computer is completely powered down and unplugged from any power source.
  2. Open the Back Panel: Use a screwdriver to remove the screws and gently open the back panel.
  3. Locate the RAM Slot(s): Find the RAM slots on the motherboard.
  4. Install the New RAM:
    • If adding a module, insert it into the empty slot, ensuring it's properly aligned and seated.
    • If replacing, remove the existing module by releasing the clips, then insert the new 8GB module.
  5. Close the Back Panel: Reattach the back panel and secure it with screws.
  6. Power On the Computer: Plug the computer back in and turn it on. The system should automatically recognize the new RAM.

Verification

Once installed, you can verify the new RAM amount in the system settings:

  1. Windows 10/11:
    • Right-click on This PC or Computer on the desktop or in File Explorer.
    • Select Properties.
    • Look under the System section to see the installed RAM.

Following these guidelines will ensure you purchase the correct RAM and complete a successful upgrade.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
