I'm planning to upgrade original TouchSmart 520-1020 500GB SATA hard drive to 500GB SSD (Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD). Is the present SATA connection on the 520-1020 compatible with SATA SSD connection or will I need an adapter?

According to the pages, the hard drive is mounted in a metal cage that slides from the connector(s). You would have to improvise an adapter tray, or install the SSD drive, slide the tray back into it, and hopefully 1 or 2 screws will align on the top.

@wb2001,
Thanks for the guidiance. I'm looking to use this SSD Mounting Bracket Converter Kit 2.5" to 3.5" drive bay to mount inside the 3.5" metal cage. The converter connector should line up with the backplane connection. Will this work?
