Omen Obelisk Desktop 875-0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Currently the computer has an Nvidia GTX 1060, 3GB graphics card and a 500 watt power supply. I would like to upgrade to an Nvidia RTX 2070 Super and a power supply (700 watts?) that will provide the proper power for the new card and the rest of the computer. Can anyone tell me if this is possible, and if so how difficult it would be to complete and where to purchase these parts?

The Nvidia RTX 2070 Super is sold by a number of different companies but I don't know which one is the best for the Omen as they all seem to have some differences in chipset, fans, etc. I just don't know enough to make a good decision.

I appreciate any help you could provide.

Thanks.

@WDMcM Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to upgrade the graphics card and power supply.

I have checked the specification of the Nvidia graphics card.

It requires a 550watt power supply with an 8pin connector.

(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)

You can contact our HP part surfer to purchase the parts.

You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

And order it via the HP Parts store: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ

Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support

Or you can contact local stores to purchase the parts.
