HP ENVY Desktop PC TPE01-3000i (4M0M1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I've upgraded my RAM to 32GB but would like to upgrade the video card as well, mostly for Photoshop, Illustrator and some light 3D and video editing. Not really a gamer so mostly for those graphic programs and not sure what to get. Cost is not the major factor and looking for performance and reliability. I believe I would have to upgrade my power supply and saw some mentions of https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014W3EM2W/ and not sure of that would work. What are the suggestions of what would work best for my desktop, thanks.

@CaseyLand,

There are no restrictions for graphics cards, other than will it fit dimensions-wise in your desktop, does the power supply match the GPU's minimum power requirement, and does your power supply  provide the necessary PCIe power cable(s) needed to power your GPU.

As for GPU suggestions for you -assuming you upgraded your PSU with the aforementioned 500 watt power supply, I would recommend something like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 1660 Ti, or the AMD RX 5600 XT.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@CaseyLand,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Looking at your HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-3000i (4M0M1AV) as per: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-desktop-pc-te01-3000i/2100903605/document/c08198225, followed by: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=4M0M1AV, it refers to: "319L5AA Product Name : HP ENVY TE01-3244 DESKTOP PC US".

Therefore: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=319L5AA&searchby=product, which provided this information: N00594-601 ("MOTHERBOARD RENO INTEL ADL-S H670,WIN"):

And that your desktop is fitted with an HP proprietary 310 watt power supply (p/n: L10875-800), which unfortunately means that you cannot use an industry standard ATX power supply.

But wait, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

As per: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Power-Supply-Cross-Reference-for-specific-model..., your TE01 desktop is compatible with the OEM HP 500 watt HP p/n: L05757-800, fitted with one 6+2-pin PCIe and one 6-pin PCIe power cables.

This power supply can be purchased here, for example: https://www.sparepartworld.com/laptop-spare-parts/internal-power-supplies/internal-power-supplies-l0....

Hope this was helpful.

Thank you for the info about the power supply, I didn't know that it was so specific as to what I can use. Does this also apply to the video card and what I can use? Is there a recommendation for my system what I can use and what works well for the graphics programs?
