Hello,
I'm using a brand-new HP Workstation Z1 G9 running Win 11 Pro 22H2.
I would like to upgrade this computer with a Barracuda 4T HDD that I just bought. I just realized that I can't install it in the drive cage directly. It must first be fit in the HP 681961-001 Plastic 3.5-inch hard drive carrier and then in the bay of the drive cage.
The price of HP 681961-001 Plastic 3.5-inch hard drive carrier is $150.00. Still, it is necessary to find it, which is not the case in France. find it in the USA, but they don't ship to France.
Could you advise me an alternative to this plastic drive carrier? and if possible at a reasonable price, since I need 2 pieces.
Regards

I tried the HPE Online store and was informed tha your desktop is an HP Inc product.
Have you tried the HP Online store in France?
https://www.hp.com/fr-fr/shop/
There is a video chat or telephone contact there that may be able to assist you in locating the part.

TNX again Erico,
I have already contacted HP France support about this. All his help can be summed up by communicating the reference to me... for the rest, take care of yourself.
Moreover, spare parts are not sold by HP France, but by a third party company.
Any alternative?

I can ask my internal HP contacts.

your main problem (besides the sky high HP price) with using a non HP Z1 G9 drive carrier (single and dual drive) is the side tabs/pegs that protrude on all 4 sides of the HP carrier
you can try modifying the older HP z820 carrier by cutting of the front plate and drilling 4 holes on each end and using a screw in place of the plastic peg found on the HP carrier
