Pavilion All-in-One - 27-r177d
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi
I have just bought a Pavilion All-in-One - 27-r177d with AMD Radeon™ 530 Graphics (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated). Although I did not want a gaming PC, the performance is poor for games which I might occasionally use it for. I should have researched this before purchase but want to get advice.
1. Is it possible to replace the Radeon 530 with a different card? As an AIO, I know space, cooling and power might be constraints. If so, how do I know which cards are compatible?
2. As it is a new PC, would upgrading the card myself void the warranty? Or should I contact HP (I purchased directly from their online store)?
3. Are their alternatives to boosting graphics performance such as via USB-3.1 Type C (ver 1)?

Thanks
Mark

Unfortunately, AIO's are very similar to a laptop as far as upgrades on graphics cards.  While the AIO motherboard may have a graphics card slot, they are by no means considered an upgradeable option.  While there may be some option to change the graphics card, if there is a slot, finding anything suitable for gaming is probably not worthwhile.

Unless there is an AIO that claims to be for gaming,  you most likely will not be satisfied with the outcome.  There may be options available for your situation, but they will be expensive.  While that AIO is very nice for most everything else, I would not expect being able to do anything reasonably priced to make it into acceptable for gaming.
