Hello, i was wondering if it was possible to upgrade from a GTX 1660 Super that came with my prebuilt

HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx
SKU 3Y4K0EA#AB9

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600G

(im not sure of WHICH TG01-2 it is)

and my PSU its a D19-310P2A

i was wondering if i need to upgrade my PSU, keep it as is and just add the new graphics card or maybe go for a lower voltage graphics card?

Thanks in advance

@DGKanossa,

It looks like your HP Gaming TG01-2009np (3Y4K0EA) as fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) came with a 400-watt power supply (p/n: L69242-800) -please verify.

A GTX 1660 Super has a 125-watt TDP whereas an RX 7600 XT has a 190-watt TDP.

This means that if you want to power an RX 7600 XT, you'll have to upgrade your power supply to a 500-watt unit, with p/n: L05757-800.

I would recommend getting an RTX 4060.  Not only do you not have to upgrade your power supply, but it also performs better than an RX 7600 XT.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for your answer!

As for the PSU its a 310 watt, i checked it myself

well on the title i meant the RX  7600 that was my mistake but i think it still works the same way,

my main doubt was if the 500 watt psu worked on this pre-built.

Again thank you!

@DGKanossa,

Correct, the RX 7600 (165-watt TDP) also requires a 500-watt power supply.  The 500-watt L05757-800 power supply is compatible with your PC.

Btw, the RTX 4060 requires only a 400-watt power supply with p/n: L69242-800.

Hello again!

i went talked with a HP approved store and they said that the L05757-800 wasn´t compatible with my Pavilion after they saw my 310 watt psu which is the L63964-002 and they recomended me the L77487-001

is this correct?

@DGKanossa,

Well, the HP approved store is correct that the 500-watt power supply with p/n: L77487-001 is indeed compatible with your PC, but they are wrong with regard to the 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800, which is also compatible with your PC, but must be installed a little different:

I would pick the one that is least expensive -but know that they are both compatible with your PC!
