I’n trying to upgrade my HP Compaq elite ultra slim computer, and I was wondering if it would be possible to install a M2 SSD hard drive in the PC I x1 port?

I just took a look at one of my PCIe M.2 adapters.

Mine fits ATX format PCs.

You would have to take a look inside yours and measure the dimensions to see if a standard low profile PCIe x1M.2 adapter would even fit.

It is a maybe since there  is an available  PCIe x1 slot.

A PCIe x1 slot has very low bandwidth (1GB/s) and that would make access very slow  for an  NGFF storage device.

You may some issues getting an MBR BIOS and an M.2  NGFF SSD to cooperate.

Thank you so much for you reply. I will take a look and measure how much space I have. 👍
