I'm looking to add a GPU to my system but the 180W PSU is too weak to support one. From what I've seen so far L04618-800 looks like it should fit the case, connect to the motherboard and has an 8 pin for a GPU. Can anyone point me in the right direction to buy one in the UK or tell me if this wont fit/ if there is a better option?

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP 285 G3 Microtower PC can be fitted with a 310-watt power supply ("SFF ENTL EPA90 (Gold) Full range 115V/230V"), with dimensions: 95mm x 73mm x 165mm.
I found identical looking 310-watt power supplies branded with two different part numbers: L08262-004 and 901772-004.
The first p/n (L08262-004) makes more sense, since your 180-watt power supply probably has part number L16395-001.
Here is one 310-watt power supply purchase example for the L08262-004 via eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174120331765?hash=item288a6169f5:g:7FQAAOSw2qFioASm&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8N....
Here is one 310-watt power supply purchase example for the 901772-004 via eBay: New 310W PCG007 Power Supply 901772-004 For HP 280 288 G3 US | eBay.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
