I would like to upgrade the cpu on my Touchsmart 600, however the model is so old its not even listed anymore on the support site for upgrades! I did a full factory restore and upgraded to Windows 10.
I will upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB, but will I be able to upgrade the processor from Intel Core 2 Duo to i7 820QM Quad Core?
After hunting around on the Internet looks like I can only upgrade the Core 2 Duo from T6500 to T9900. Can someone confirm this?

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
In order to check the compatibility, I would recommend you go through the Motherboard specifications of your PC.
Here it shows the upgrade information, Please note these are the ones which have been tested and are compatible on your PC.
HP and Compaq Desktop PCs Motherboard Specifications (E60)
If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.
Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead!
