Omen 25L GT15-2008na
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi everyone,

I’m new to the intricacies of gaming pc’s so I’m hoping someone can help me.

I’ve ordered the Omen 25L GT15-2008na

https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=A30ZCEA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP and had intended to swap out the ram for a 32gb kit straight away. As I was unsure which to order I contacted Kingston with 2 models I thought may work, here’s what they said;

The difference between the two modules lies in the CAS latencies and voltage specifically for the overclocking XMP Profile #1:

KF560C40BBK2-32 - XMP Profile #1:
DDR5-6000 CL40-40-40 @1.35V

KF560C30BBK2-32 - XMP Profile #1:
DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36 @1.4V

This makes the XMP Profile #1 more aggressive in the kit KF560C30BBK2-32.
All other specs are the same.

Your system uses specially programmed overclocked memory.
Installing any non-HP memory might cause compatibility issues and we do not have any options for which we can guarantee 100% compatibility.”

I’m a little confused by the fact that they say the system uses specially programmed memory and they can’t guarantee compatibility- can anyone shed any light on this, or suggest a kit that might work? It doesn’t need to be Kingston, I just looked there as that’s the brand that’s specced on the build.

I’ve replied to Kingston to get some clarification, but thought I’d ask here while I wait for a response.

thanks

Crucial memory has Gaming modules for your Intel Core i7 based Omen 25l

https://eu.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp-compaq/omen-25l-gt15-2000i

Apparently Kingston does not have the time to sort out what that they sell will work, so I would not buy anything from them other than the exact 8 GB modules that are presently installed. There are four DIMM memory slots on the motherboard.

You can get the part numbers by using the CPU-Z utilty or opening up the case.

https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Two more identical 8 GB modules would probably be the cheapest upgrade to 32GB for your Omen.

Finding compatible RAM for HP Omen seems to be very poorly documented and after piecing together snippets from here and what  @NonSequitur777 posted elsewhere about GT15-1xxx + taking a leap of faith I  wanted to share my experience. With the OMEN by HP 25L GT15-2039 that came with 16gb (2x8gb) rated at 5200 I replaced both sticks with 32GB (2x16gb) KF560C30BBEAK2-32 and in BIOS tested the XMP profile both 1 ( DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36 @1.4V) and 2 ( DDR5-5600 CL40-40-40 @1.25V). The motherboard claims are very conservative, both of these ran perfectly so 6000 is supported as well.
