Hello everyone! Im trying to find out if it is possible to upgrade to the amd 9800x3d since the chipset is AM5.

Your OMEN 16L Gaming Desktop PC TG03-0000a (A8JE1AV) as fitted with the Grady motherboard (SSID: 8D31) does not appear to be compatible (yet?) with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, as I could find no online confirmation: your PC appears to be very new with as of yet few benchmarks.

 

The best compatible processor for your PC -for now at least, is the Ryzen 7 8700G (4.20 GHz up to 5.10 GHz, 8-Cores, 16-Threads, 65-watt TDP).

 

You could try to reach out to HP Support and see if they have anything to say.

 

I would make sure you got the latest BIOS version (F.06 Rev.A currently) as found here: OMEN 16L Gaming Desktop PC TG03-0000a Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.

 

You could always try out the 9800X3D: it will either work or it will cast angry beeps at you if it isn't compatible.
