Upgrade to 2x16GB Ram?
05-20-2021 04:43 PM

Hi - looking to upgrade my sons entry level gaming system to 32GB. Currently has 2x8 (16GB 2666Mhz) total. First - can this product handle this type of upgrade? If so, then what speed RAM can this take? Do I need to get 2666Mhz?
son is complaining about glitchy fortnite anc call of duty. The processor chip is an AMD Ryzen 7 and graphics card is AMD 550x I think or something low end like that.
lastly is there a particular brand that is better? Like corsair vs furyx?
many thanks in advance! Really appreciate the help.

Its specs

1. RAM: Yes, you can upgrade to 32GB (2 x 16GB) max. You can use compatible 2666MHz or 3200MHz RAM but machine will only run at 2666MHz. For example

2. VIDEO: It has AMD Radeo RX 550 now with 310W PSU, you can upgrade to a higher card BUT you may also need to upgrade to higher wattage PSU (if available from HP because its connectors to customized Sunflower motherboard).

Really appreciate the answer and you taking the time to respond. Kid has been bugging me non-stop and the current config of 2x8GB (16GB) seems to not be nearly enough to run his games. A year ago when the pc was purchased it seemed to work ok but now is really slow.
