Hi, just wondering if my mainboard will support an SSD? It's the original Foxconn BH 2B52 board. Don't know much about these things really, but thinking it might teeter my pc along a bit longer if i can upgrade. But no point buying one if it won't fit. Thanks.

Welcome back.
I don't see an M.2 socket option on your MB at this HP Site. An M.2 SSD would not be doable.
You could swap in or add a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.
Back up data on the factory HDD to be safe.
Your PC does not seem to support using a HP Cloud Recovery and HP is not offering a recovery media purchase option.
This suggests you will have to clone or image the operating system on the factory HDD to the new SATA SSD. Or do a clean Windows install on the new SSD.
Lastly, some HP PCs have issues with certain SATA SSD drive manufacturers. I don't know if your PC is in this category.
You might look at HP 2.5 SATA SSDs for the best upgrade experience.
Regards

The specifications show the motherboard as an Orchid3.

You will be impressed with the performance boost that having an SSD as the boot drive gives you. You won't believe that it is the same PC.
Using the 9.5mm adapter it will fit in the same place as the OEM legacy electromechanical drive adapter.
I suggest cloning the original drive to the SSD and replacing the legacy HDD with the SSD.
