You don't need to upgrade the cpu. Just download the special Windows 11 ISO with the removed limitations and install it as usual)  You can find such ISO image over the internet. Windows 11 is the same Windows 10 but with a new "design".

I see, but is it a secure way?

Might be you also know how to find compatible versions and upgrade hardware? Frankly, I experience some limitations with performance right now.

ISO file with removed limitations is the same Windows image but it just skips the step which checks the compatibility of your system - the OS files  itself are genuine

workstation related questions should be posted in the workstation forum where users of these systems can possibly give you a specific answer

the first thing to note is your current CPU(s) are quite slow compared to later Xeon CPU's and upgrading to a E5-2687 is not cost effective in my opinion as you can buy a later cpu/motherboard or complete system for the cost of two of those cpu's so it might be time to look at a newer system
