HP Desktop PC M01-F3000a (6G6E5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Greetings!

Information to start:

My Computer: HP Desktop M01-F3224

Motherboard: Erica9

Integrated graphics: AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G
Expansion Slots: 2 PCIe

It originally came with 12GB ram. I removed and replaced with 2x 16GB = 32GB RAM. (Recognized and all is good ‌‌ )

I do NOT play games on this computer, it's strictly for static graphic arts use.

I need a dedicated GPU. I run an image generating program that is VERY GPU hungry. (Photoshop and Corel Painter run fine with GPU as is, but not this beast software)

I am on a budget, so any Radeon card that starts with 67xx + is out.

I found the Radeon RX 6600 with 8GB GDDR6 which seems like it would have the processing power I need.

I know it's an old card, but hoping it would work for my situation. It comes with 4 connectors. Is it compatible with my AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G processor? I know I would have to virtually remove the integrated graphics.

Also, I know I need to up my power supply too as the Radeon 6600 requires a 550 watt power supply.
I found a 700W power supply in my budget. Would 700W be overkill?

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!

(If I'm missing any needed info, please let me know!)

@Bewitching,

As I indicated in your previous question, you'll need the 400-watt power supply with p/n: L04618-800 which has ample wattage to power an RX 6600 which has a 132-watt TDP, as indicated here: AMD Radeon RX 6600 Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database.

Unfortunately, you cannot use an industry-standard ATX power supply with your PC platform, as it only accepts specific HP-proprietary power supplies.

Kind Regards,

Sorry for the double post! This is the question I posted first and I got no answers. I thought it was too long, so I trimmed it down to the other post 🙂

Thank you for reminding me I have to use a proprietary power supply.
