Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0812no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. New HP user here. Been doing a little bit of research so far.

I'm assisting in upgrading a Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0812no and I wanted to know what power supply and graphics card options can used on the HP 843B mother board. The 1660ti seems like a reasonable upgrade depending on what power supply will be put into use.

(( So far I have installed two 16GB RAM sticks and I've ordered an
Intel® Core™ i7-8700 Processor. Possible internal hard drive and SSD upgrade in the future. ))

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

The 8700 CPU is good to go.

The 1660 Ti requires a 450 watt power supply and one eight pin PSU connection to the graphics card.

Power supply upgrade options may be limited to a HP branded 400 watt power supply (part number L04618-800 SFF).

Your PC's MB and power supply are HP proprietary parts. A standard 24 pin PSU MB connection will not work with this PC.

Hi TSSimonsen,

I don't like to recommend component upgrades.

The only option I see in your situation is a GTX 1650 (Link).

You can check other options.

AMD graphics cards usually require more power compared to Nvidia graphics cards.

Regards
