HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF
Microsoft Windows 11

Dear Forum,

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF motherboard (Intel 9th gen enabled) I ordered through eBay has arrived.  It is going to replace the HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF motherboard (Intel 8th gen enabled: i7-8700K installed). And going back, the desktop chassis started as an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF (Intel 7th gen enabled: i7-7700K installed).

>> The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF will be fitted with an i7-9700KF (3.60 GHz to 4.90 GHz, 8 Cores, 8 Threads) <<

HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF motherboard part number: L65200-001 / L65200-601 / L49080-001.

So, that's what I am working on right now.

Kind Regards,

Dear Forum,

Closing this HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF Upgrade project as all my performance objectives have been met -even exceeded.

This is the most powerful Desktop I created as of today yet:

My rig is comparable to an HP OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx, such as this UserBenchMark example: HP OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark:

Also, this HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF can currently run any PC game available at very high resolution and ultra-detail settings:

My next legacy HP desktop project: a "barebones" HP ProDesk 600 G3 MT, which I expect will show up at my door tomorrow, Saturday, November 26th.

Esteemed Forum,

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF motherboard/processor upgrades worked out!

There is lots of stuff (software/BIOS, etc.) to update, but everything is running A-OK:

Dear Forum,

Completed software updates, patches and tweaks. End results exceeded my expectations, more about that in a moment.

Ran the UserBenchMark Performance test software, and smoked the competition by a very wide margin:

Processor temps under control too (<84°C) when stressed. This was by far my smoothest Upgrade.

Dear Forum,

Ran the PassMark performanceTest 10.1 for good measure as well:

This processor is firing on all eight -literally so.

As far as an HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF goes, this is probably about as good as it gets.

When it comes to my participation in this User Forum, I am not just a talker, but also a doer -and having a great time with both.

Dear Forum,

Ran the NovaBench performance test:

And the CineBench performance test:

Please note, CineBench got my OS wrong: it should list as Windows 11 Pro version 22H2 Build 22621, but this is a known bug.

Dear Forum,

Purchased an ASUS Nvidia GeForce EVO RTX 2080 Super 8GB GDDR6 graphics card, and tried it out on my HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF.  After system and graphics optimizations/overclocking, this EliteDesk 800 G5 desktop combo scored second only behind my #1 score:
