Is it possible to upgrade my graphic card Nvidia 3080 (10gb) on this 2 year old HP 45L.

Would look at a 4080 Super.

My power is 800W80 today. Maybe that need to be better and if so can this rig take and fit a better powersupply ?

Greetings @StanleyRosella

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The 45L case is spacious and has great upgrade potential.

Nvidia 4080 Founders card specs are available Here.

The 320 watt TDP, triple slot, Nvidia 4080 Super at 12.2 inches, 5.5 inches, and 2.4 inches (L x W x H) needs a minimum 700 watt PSU. Your HP 800 watt PSU should be good to go.

The 4080 Super requires three 8 pin PCIe PSU connections to he Nvidia 16 pin adapter to power this card. This seems to be overkill to power a 320 watt TDP card.

Pick a specific 4080 Super from one of the AIB partners. Check the AIB partner's perspective 4080 Super dimensions and PSU requirements to the 45L case dimensions and current HP PSU to see if the new GPU is compatible.

Thanks for the info. Gosh it's a jungle of 4080 cards. Not a tech person so this might be hard to do.

I had hoped just to disconnect the card I got and plug in a new one, since the power supply should be good enough.

Time will tell if I can dive into this adventure.

I had hoped a new graphic card could just be plugged into whatever I have today for that 3080 card. Same connectors same places and so on. We will see. Still the knowledge of having enough power is good to know.

What I can see a 4080 with triple should be physical possible to fit in this chassis, but it's the connections between it and the power that perhaps is a problem.

Greetings @NonSequitur777

I like the Asus card at your link. The card's dimensions and 320 watt TDP look good.

@StanleyRosella The above Asus GPU per NonSequitur777 should be a good fit in the 45L case. Measure along the PCIe x16 slot to check available space in the case. Check case depth to accommodate the Nvidia 16 pin power adapter.

And check your HP PSU for the required PCIe connectors.

You can upgrade the PSU (it may not be required) if you are concerned about having enough power or the correct PCIe connectors.

I just got a Seasonic PSU at Amazon. This PSU has the native 12V connector that can provide up to 600 watts to high powered Nvidia GPUs.
