@Dicky3,

All right, here we go:

When you open your desktop, please locate a spare (available) 15-pin female-SATA power connector, seen here:

If you don't have a spare female-SATA power connection (I believe you do, but just in case to cover the basics here), you will need to buy a SATA splitter cable, such as this one:

Link: https://www.amazon.com/Electop-SATA-Power-Splitter-Female/dp/B014YKTDKO/ref=sr_1_12?crid=33FZCR9CQCE...

You'll have to disconnect one of the desktop's female-SATA cables, insert the male SATA splitter cable, reconnect the unit you disconnected, and now you'll have one available female-SATA power cable.

Next, connect the available desktop female-SATA power cable to the male-SATA end of a male-SATA to female-SATA extension cable, such as this one:

Link: https://www.amazon.com/15-Pin-Female-Power-Extension-Cable/dp/B0046DYKVM

Next, connect the female-SATA end of the extension cable to the male-SATA connection of a ATX PSU ADAPTER ATX 24-Pin to SATA Power Supply Adapter, such as this one:

[EDIT:] Yes, I know: this is a two-pack, and you only need one adapter. Reason: I couldn't find a single adapter card for sale on Amazon.

Next, connect your Corsair's cv650 watt power supply unit's male-24-pin power connector to the female-24-pin connector on the ATX Power Supply Adapter Card.

Next, connect the 6+2 / 8-pin PCIe power supply cable(s) from your ATX power supply unit to your graphics card.

This is what my rig looks like (your graphics card fits inside your desktop):

Hope this was helpful.

Don't hesitate to ask any other questions or request clarifications.

Kind Regards,

Thank you so much for your help, but is the splitter required?

HP Recommended

@Dicky3,

No, as I mentioned, it is not required: if you have an available SATA power connection in your desktop, then you can skip ordering that part.

@Dicky3,

By the way, the Corsair CV650 you have is a very nice and high-quality power supply -excellent choice: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Power-Supply-Units/Power-Supply-Units-General-Purp....
