Pavilion 550-159KR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Now I'm using memory DDR3 8GBytes Single. My Mainboard is HP - 2B47.

I want to change memory DDR3 type to DDR4 type and graphic card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050.

Is it compatible in my mainboard ?

Welcome to HP Support Forum. Firstly you can't change RAM from DDR3 to DDR4. DDR4 RAM won't work on DDR3 motherboards.

Secondary you can use GTX 1070 card, just on the edge of 300W PSU on your computer. Please use latest BIOS from the following link

Thanks your help.

But I heard that skylake motherboard can work with DDR4.

So in case of 2B47 motherboard, it can work with both DDR3 and DDR4.

I'm not sure this info, so could you tell me more about that?

intel designed the "cpu" to work with EITHER a DDR3 OR DDR4 chipset, you can only select/use one chipset on a motherboard, so a motherboard maker will either use a ddr3 compatable chipset OR A ddr4 chipset. do you now understand?

Oh, I understand exactly.

You're the best answer.

Thanks for your help. 🙂
