I would like to upgrade the memory on my Pavilion 550-227c. The HP Product Spec say it will support " PC3-14400 (DDR3-1866)". But, I believe DDR3-1866 is PC3-14900 - not PC3-14400. Can somebody tell me if there is a typo in the HP Product Spec or what the correct description of this memory upgrade options should be.
Thank you very much

Hello
Indeed, unfortunately there are often errors in the technical pages.
Now difficult to answer, for what exactly will be compatible
Try in case the online scan:

Thank you for the reply. I tried the scanner on the Crucial website. The only option it presented was for the same memory the PC came with which is PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600). I am tried to upgrade to the faster memory HP indicated it will support but describes incorrectly as (PC3-14400 (DDR3-1866). I could not tell if you were asking for the model and product number or saying that it must be entered in to the Crucial scanner but here they are:
Model: 550-227c
Product number: T3Z93AA#ABA
Thank you

I guess you mean the signing ..
it is a reminder for those who do not give the exact model of the computer!
For crucial you can use the scan, if the computer is recognized, if not, indeed, you have to search by the name of the computer
I don't quite understand what you are indicating:
"" I am tried to upgrade to the faster memory HP indicated it will support but describes incorrectly as (PC3-14400 (DDR3-1866).""
have you already tried it and it works, but the memory is not recognized properly ..
Or are you telling me again that the product page gives the wrong reference?
I also guess there is an error, I found the same
DDR3-1866 is PC3-14900 - not PC3-14400
If you have not yet purchased the modules, you can either try the security and buy the same as what is offered by the site (you are free to buy another brand of course)
Either try more efficient modules, if that does not work, in general the resellers do not make a fuss, to take them back!
Sorry, that's all I can tell you, I think
