It appears that all the different model numbers under the 7TT87AV product number come with the Weaver motherboard.

According to the memory upgrade information the motherboard supports 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.
I'm pretty sure that your PC can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4 memory if you want to install that much.
You can run this command to see if 32 GB would be supported:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
This should be a compatible 16 GB memory chip if the report indicates you can install 2 x 16 GB of memory.

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip if you want to go with what HP indicates:

I don't know how much improvement you will get on gaming apps because that performance is usually based on the graphics adapter, and your PC only has the onboard Radeon Vega graphics adapter.
Increasing the memory should help overall performance though.

Thank you! It was indeed capable of taking 32 gb of RAM, it dramatically improveved gaming. However, I'm experiencing some strange mouse/keyboaard probleems now.. The mouse occaasionally gets extremely laggy (not while gaming though?) and while typing my keyboard goes haywire and occasionally types many multiples of letters as shown here (I intentionally left this to give an example of what it'ss doing). It doesn't happen alll the time, I'm curious if you have any suggestions as to how to prevent this as the typing issue in particular is very irritating.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I don't have any ironclad suggestions for you to try, but you can try installing the latest W10/W11 AMD chipset driver, restart the PC and see if that makes any difference.
AMD Ryzen™ and Athlon™ Mobile (Chipset) Drivers
I gave you the mobile chipset driver because your PC uses a processor designed for notebook PC's.
Essentially, your PC is a large unportable notebook PC as far as its internal components are concerned.
