Dear HP community,

I have a Pc all in one but it's too slow. I would like to upgrade the RAM memory, what's the best choice and how is it possible to do so?

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your PC.

You can find the memory upgrade info at the link above.

Your PC has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory.

This would be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your PC...

@Shory -- in addition to the good information from @Paul_Tikkanen -- I note that your computer was factory-configured with 8 GB of RAM, which is "double" the RAM that many computers have.  This excludes "online gamers", who want 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM in their computers.

So, I recommend that you launch the Windows "Task Manager" -- hold-down CTRL and ALT keys, and tap the DELETE key, and then select Task Manager. Switch to its "Performance" tab, and see how much of your current 8 GB RAM is "used" and how much is "unused".  If less than 4 GB is "used", then it will be a waste of your money to add another 8 GB of RAM that will be "unused".

The specifications for your computer indicate that your disk-drive is 7200 RPM (33% better than the older 5400 RPM speed) and has a 1 TB capacity.  On that same "Performance" page, is the activity-level of your disk-drive relatively high?  Within Windows, are you using most of that 1 TB to store your files, or much less than 500 GB ? It is possible to replace your disk-drive by a SSD ("solid state device") to make the input/output up to 5 times faster, which will improve the overall performance of your computer. If 500 GB of storage works for you, that is some dollars less for purchasing a 500 GB SSD, as compared to the cost of a 1000 GB SSD.

Short answer: measure twice, and spend once.  🙂
