Bought a HP ENVY 750-114 about 4 years ago and its been getting slow so trying to figure out what CPU and Ram are compatible with my Motherboard. The computers im finding on the HP site have a IPM17-DD Odense motherboard which is blue where mine is just a IPM17-DD and its green it currently still has the I5-6400 2.7 and 12 GB DDR3-1600 MHz ram which is 240 Pin. Ive found lots of ram thats also DDR3-1600 240 pin but mine is PC3L-12000U and they are PC3-12000 and when I looked it up if you have a L slot you can not use just PC3 it has to be PC3L

@UniquePanda I've pulled up the product information using the information (serial number) you sent in private (as it cannot be shared in a public forum) after the agent requested for it, that said, I see that the motherboard on your device is an Odense and the ram tested/approved to work on your device is as mentioned below:
Dual channel memory architecture
Two 240-pin DDR3L DIMM sockets
Supports the following:
PC3L-12800 (DDR3L-1600)
PC3L-10600 (DDR3L-1333)
Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB DIMMs
Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
NOTE:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers
NOTE:
Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.
Also, though we do not recommend or support upgrades, you may use the below information to upgrade the CPU using the parts tested by HP: Click here & look under Processor upgrade information
There are no other information available on upgrading this device but the ones mentioned above.
That said, I personally recommend you get in touch with a local tech store and have him/her look at it, so you don't end up paying for something that wouldn't work on your device, just to be on a safer side.

Sorry for the late reply the email I was sent got lost in all of my spam emails. The product number is " #: M9Z92AA#ABA ", but when I search that it brings me to a PC with the same specs that mine has but it brings me to one which the motherboard is blue and says " ODENSE" where my motherboard is green and does not say "ODENSE" on it. So that is where i'm confused as to if they are the same one is just blue and the other is just green. Other than the color of the motherboard and where it says "IMP17-DD" that is where mine ends where as with the one I find on the site says "IMP17-DD-ODENSE".
Thank you for the reply.
