OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop GT16-0039na PC

I have just recieved my new PC (Details above),  which has a 1 TB PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ Performance M.2 SSD installed as standard. I would like to have more  capacity than the 1TB I have..  [4TB ?].  I'm wanting to not have to Unninstall/Re-install  games, repeatedly, and increase wear & tear on my solitary 1TB SSD [Not to mention use up all the space, installing the other software/Files etc. Also, *obviously*..It's a brand new [pretty expensive] PC, and I'm NOT going to mess with it when I haven't a clue about it

So my nice new OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop GT16-0039na PC  sits there, accusingly [lol] (Out of its packaging, but still covered/sitting in its "padding"/plastic.. while Hopeless Harry sits here.. okay! Given you ENOUGH comedy entertainment, already **bleep** it [!] HELP.

Advice received -(which I'm ignoring, BTW)

            1.  Leave 1TB SSD alone, and add a second M.2 SSD [2TB,  taking it up to 3TB, total].

            2.  Install 2 2TB M.2 SSD's [Replacing the onboard 1TB with a 2TB/Adding second 2TB one. [4TB total]

            3.  Keep 1 TB SSD already fitted, and add another (SATA) 4TB SSD in the PC case.

.....end of line ( and Rant)

Hi @Moonshadow2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

could you help me understand a couple of things so I can give advice that’s practical for your situation?

  1. Do you want all your games and software on a single drive, or are you okay with spreading them across multiple drives?
  2. Are you planning to replace or just add storage, or do you want to keep the factory 1TB untouched for system/OS speed?
  3. Do you have a preference for NVMe vs SATA SSDs, or is maximum storage your top priority regardless of speed?

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead!

Best regards,

Deep_World
