I have a OMEN 25L Product # 7WM96AV. I am replacing the 500GB M2 SSD card with a M2 2TB Gen 4 ssd card. When I try to reinstall windows I get the fatal blue screen indicating an error. I am trying to find out if my motherboard is compatible with a Gen 4 SSD card.

Gen 4.0 SSDs should be backward compatible with the Gen 3.0 PCIe NVMe slot your PC has, so unfortunately, I would have no idea why that is happening.
Try using the HP cloud recovery tool to make a bootable USB drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC on the new SSD.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will have to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
The 7WM96AV product number reports two different model numbers with separate product numbers that fall under that 7WM96AV product number.
One is for an OMEN 25L GT12-0164 with a product number of 328N8AA#ABA
The other is for an OMEN 25L GT12-0124 with a product number of 328N7AA#ABA
You'll have to check your PC and determine which model number you have.
