Hello to all,

I have recently bought the HP Workstation  HP Z440 with the following configuration:

- Processeur Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 v4 @ 3.50GHz, 3501 MHz, 4 cœur(s), 8 processeur(s) logique(s)

- Operating system is  Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

- one SSD drive of 500 GB

I would appreciate the options available to increase the storage capacity up to 16 TB.

Thanks

Stephane

Your system has an SSD with OS (Windows or Ubuntu?)  and the SSD makes it boot fast which is really useful.

You can easily add a 16tb hard drive.  While I do not have a Z440 (I have z400) you should be able to configure a raid system with a pair of 16 in RAID 1 mode.

This depends on what you want to do with the workstation.  lf you want to just add 16tb drive ensure it is designed for internal use.  Some drives being sold were designed for external cases and are not suitable for internal use as the PC lacks a signal to wake them up.  Also verify the drive is warranted for your location.  Some drives made by seagate and sold in the USA were manufactured for use in China (for example) and the warranty cannot be enforced.

If you plan to use the workstation for graphics processing you may consider upgrading to a high performance GPU.  What GPU did the 440 have?  What are your plans?
