I am wondering if there has been a BIOS update for this system since it's original bios in 2010? I inherited one of these big paperweights and am trying to upgrade it (and hopefully) move it beyond the 4Gb memory limit. Any help would be great, I've read the users guide and specs and other good things all say that the system can only accept 4Gb (in 2x2Gb chips.) This system is always chugging so hard loading Windows 7 Home Premium, any memory improvement or bios update would be a olus!
Thanks!
Brent

hi
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Two DDR2 DIMM (240-pin) sockets
- Supported DIMM types:
- PC2-5300 (667 MHz)
- PC2-6400 (800 MHz)
- Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
- Supports 2GB DDR2 DIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB* on 32 bit PCs
Only it often happens that hp only validates a certain amount of memory, but in rare cases, we can go beyond
I could not advise you, because a high risk of buying modules for nothing
Otherwise try to go to a professional, if he has the compatible modules he can do the test!
