Hi all.
Just got my old PC out of the storage unit. It was never used so the condition is impeccable. However being 2016-17 model it's too weak for modern day demands (CRAZY it's only 3 y.o. and it's too old!). Love the size and the screen 27" though.
Current specs are:
System board: ID 81B7
System Board: PFPQPOA8J34OAU
Processor: i5-6400T CPU @ 2,20 Ghz
RAM: 8.00 GB DDR 2133 Mhz Single Channel
So I just want to know if there's a point to spend money on upgrading all the things to get it up to speed (I build websites and work with video editing software e.g. Davinci Resolve so need a decent machine), or I am better off use it as a TV - dust collector and buy brand new All in one desk top?
Thanks for the input,
Cheers

why not use it, it IS NOT old.
AIO what can be upgraded, a fake Desktop.?
RAM , and SSD.
that be it.
you said up to speed, so what is slow? just internet or local apps slow is control panel slow?
does PC have SSD, if no , get one , install it , 8gb ram is plenty. It sure is no gaming or video rendering machine or CAD/CAM /CAE box. it is just a home PC, use it and be happy if one thing is slow what is slow.
PAVILION ALL-IN-ONE 27aA050a ( can not find this PC googling, ?) typo? is first "a" really and x?
the xa has M.2 ssd boot drive what is wrong with that, nothing.
Your search for " 27aA050a" has returned no results (0)
the 27A050a came with 2TB HDD, boot. vastly unlike xa ,with M.2
no GPU upgrades , chips soldered down. no x16 slot.

Thanks all for the info.
Was looking at different options for upgrading the hardware and not to mess anything up, so your comments are of great help. Thank you.
Curious though on available DDR4 RAM upgrades on the market and whether they conflict or not with the rest of the machine.
Also isn't AIO's only have one slot to house RAM (slim body size restrictions obviously).
I guess ideally i need to run Davinci REsolve 17 on it and wanted to know if I could pump it up to handle it.
Davinci Resolve 17 minimum requirements are:
16 GB or better RAM
Will price up an SSD drive, i7 Core processor and 16/32 GB Ram, see if it would do it. Shame really the GPU is fixed.
Again thanks folks for the input.
Cheers
