I am wanting to upgrade my p6703w with a new video card, power supply and RAM but I have no idea what will "fit" in the tower. I've been looking at the Geforce 1030 card and an EVGA 750w power supply. RAM is just a bonus. I don't play the modern day games, but more of the mid 2000's games and one in particular is just a hog on resources....Star Trek Legacy. Any help is appreciated

this is a older system, and i question if changing a cpu is worthwhile, as the fastest cpu is the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz (125 watts)
ram however can be upgraded to 16GB
the video card is a no go unless you replace the stock 250 watt supply with a 450 watt unit

all in all when you total up the cost for ram, video card, power supply for just a few dollars more you can buy a used system off ebay that will have better specs for a few dollars more that is even faster
this is just a example:
dell 790 Select desktop tower/i5 cpu = 79.00 you will need to upgrade the power supply to a 400 watt unit but acording to internet posts the mini tower can run the nvidia gtx1060 card

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Your upgrade options are limited by a couple of factors:
1. 250 watt PSU
2. Legacy BIOS
3. Possible processor bottleneck
Nvidia 700 series, 900 series, and 1000 series graphics cards require a UEFI BIOS. You don't have this and your PC cannot be upgraded to a UEFI BIOS.
Measure the existing PSU and the open distance along the PCIe x16 graphics card slot. Provide the dimensions. We can then shop for suitable components that will work in your chassis.
You can do a Nvidia 600 series graphics card if you can find one.
This site (Link) can give you recommended components needed to run games.
It may be wiser to upgrade the PC.

first you say "YOU" want to upgrade for playing YOUR games, then when presented with options you now state that your 10 year old precludes any upgrades...................make up your mind and please only post a question like this if serious about wanting to upgrade

The Black Edition would never work. It's a 125W processor. The max rating on that motherboard is 95W.
All you actually need is a minor upgrade to the vidio. See here for the requirements of Start Trek Legacy.
A GT8400 is about $33. A new 450W PSU is less an $20 after rebate.
