@Arkham666 .

Well, that ram memory that comes out in the link you sent if it is compatible for your equipment as it meets the appropriate specifications.

Okay so I figured out that 1RX8  stands for Single Rank x8 Module which simply means there are 8 memory modules on the ram chip.

Does brand really matter when deciding to purchase new ram? There wouldn't be any performance difference between a Samsung ram with the exact specs as mine, right?

It is recommended to purchase the same brand and model when you are going to place two memory ram to obtain a good performance etc, however it is not a problem to purchase two memory ram of different brand.

hi

what is supposed to be in place, so check

  • Amount: 4 GB
  • Speed: PC3L-12800 MB/s
  • Type: DDR3L-1600

you must therefore either add an identical module, in order to increase to 8 gb
either buy two identical 4 gb modules
you can add 4gb module, but sometimes old and new don't work together

but from what is mentioned you could use a single 8 gb module
you have the choice

this can help to know what is in place

CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID

and this generally gives compatible modules

that's what I explained to you before

You can very well buy a module of a different brand provided that they are as close as possible in the characteristics

I use two types of ram on my computer, and it works

but it doesn't work every time that's why I told you, to buy a single 4 gb module

If it works with the one in place, then no problem, you only bought one module

If it doesn't work, you have to test the new one alone, and if it's ok, just buy the same one.
