So thinking of buying and upgrading my RAM from 16GB to 32GB which Ive never done before so just wanting to do my due diligience and make sure Im not making any mistakes before buying any RAM and later finding out it doesnt work with my PC.
After looking at my motherboard in msinfo I have a
BaseBoard Manufacturer HP
BaseBoard Product 8876
BaseBoard Version 11
looking online I believe this is the motherboard manual, its called Hana here.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4853259-4853773-16
So as long as I buy 2 16GB DDR4 and swap out my old RAM, maybe tell my BIOS I have 32GB now it should work right?
Anything else Im missing or should know? Im thinking about these:
thanks

Hi @simbadg13
in my opinion you should not use that memory, first it will not go to the frequency that shows the memory, and second you should check in the BIOS if you have the advanced mode for XMP profile memories, because if you don't have it probably the memory will go to a frequency of 2133 or the computer will not turn on.

I see, this is my current ram Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 SDRAM Memory Module HP37D4U1S8MR-8XR.
So if i get 2 of 16GB version that in theory should work right since the clocking speed should be the same right? Cause if so ill buy this one

If you do not have compatibility in the BIOS to change memory frequencies, you cannot use Fury XMP memory because you will have problems with the frequency, even if they are both the same.
