OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0018

Hello, I currently have 8GB of ram in my system. It's only using 1 of 2 slots. I want to upgrade my ram to 16GB but I have no clue which is compatible with my PC

Motherboard: HP86D3
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500 6-core processor

Current Ram: HP26D4U9S8ME-8x ram 2666Mhz DIMM

Upgrading with two  guaranteed compatible identical memory modules is considered to be the best practice.

That is if you want the upgrade to operate as expected the very first time you turn on the PC after installation.

That is pretty simple.

Here is a source of guaranteed compatibl;e memory and SSD upgrade products for your Obelisk PC.

Unless you don't mind failing to have the upgrade work right the first time, install memory as a guaranteed compatible pair. Matching the numbers is a crapshoot.

Ram was delivered, doesn't fit into my PC. I double checked that i bought the one that was said to be compatible and all. Just doesnt fit

That means it is the wrong type. RAM types for differing platforms have a different number of pins and physical size.

The Kingston memory that was previously in your PC is PC4 memory and PC$ memory is what your PC accepts in its slots.

That is what you stated you would order and it is PC4 memory. If the correct modules were sent, it will fit in the very same slots the old module was removed from.

That means that the memory that was delivered was either ordered or pulled from stock incorrectly before it was sent to you.

The only other way it would not fit is if you were trying to put it in backwards. It will only fit in one way and should not be forced to fit.

Contact them and use the guarantee warranty. They stand by their products and have a good reputation.
