Hello!
My current PC is an HP ENVY 700-030qe and the graphics card is an AMD RADEON HD 7670.
I would like to upgrade to a new graphics card, but I'm a bit clueless on how to go about doing it. I'm looking at the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and want to know if that's compatible with my PC? And if it isn't, what type of Graphics card should I should be looking for? Are there any other things I should purchase when replacing/installing a graphics card?
My PC: https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c03807128
Graphics Card: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ)
Thank you!

Hi @autumnjan,
Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post regarding Graphics card upgrades for the computer. I will be glad to assist you here.
Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require information regarding this:
- Did you check the product specs of the machine?
For now please check the specs of the machine:
Product specs link: http://hp.care/2xqnJPx
Must select one of the following options:
- GeForce GT 625 (1 GB DDR3)
- GeForce GT 640 (4 GB DDR3)
- GeForce GTX 645 (2 GB DDR5)
- GeForce GTX 660 (1.5 GB DDR5)
- Radeon 7670 (1 GB DDR5)
- Radeon 8570 (2 GB DDR3)
These are the supported list of graphics cards tested by HP for this computer.
- For other graphics card upgrades, consult a local technician like Best Buy Staples or any local technician.
- Please note that HP does not recommend upgrading either the operating system or the computer’s hardware as the components that were initially installed with the unit are certified by HP for optimal performance. However, as you are very technically inclined, I would still request you to consult a local technician like Best Buy or Staples before proceeding to upgrade the unit.
- On paper, this other card seems to support as well. Just take into account the power supply specs, update the bios and ensure that the PCI Express slot form factor matches the card.
- Link 2: Is the motherboard specs: http://hp.care/2xrcuX0
- Hope this answers your question.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

The NVIDIA GTX 1050 TI is compatible with your PC. I suggest that you measure inside to make sure that it fits.
