Pavilion Slimline s5260f
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello! I have a few questions about my PC. I have a Pavilion Slimline s5260f PC, and I want to upgrade the processor. Can anyone tell me what the best processor it can support, and if it can support an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler, as seen on amazon. (Picture down below)

Also I was also thinking of upgrading the motherboard. What is the best motherboard that my PC can support? I was thinking of replacing it with a Gigabyte Z390 AOURUS ULTRA (Intel LGA1151/Z390/ATX/3xM.2 Thermal Guard/Onboard AC Wi-Fi/RGB Fusion/Gaming Motherboard) (Sorry for the long names, I’m trying to be as specific as possible. Is it possible for that to be put in my PC?
Another thing I was thinking of upgrading was my graphics card. This is the same as the other 2. Can anyone tell me what the best thing I can upgrade to, or if it can support an Asus AMD Radeon Rx 5700 PCle 4.0 VR Ready Graphics Card with 8GB GDDR6 Memory and Supports up to 6 monitors (RX5700-8G).
Please let me know if there is anything else that you think I should upgrade to make this a functional gaming PC.  Thank you for your time.

@Benfitz,

Only if you have the technical ability to upgrade OS,  and replace CPU, RAM, install GPU card.

1) WIN 10 (free upgrade),  "upgrade this PC to Windows 10",  can be done with the existing system.

All of the following can be researched and priced:

2)  AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU chip  $60 plus get the thermal paste, $7.00

3)  GTX 650 graphic card  approx $135  or GTX 660 graphic card approx $197

4) 550W PSU (Corsair cx550 preferred)  direct from Corsair  $75+)

5) Two sets of 2x8GB RAM   $120

Figure on $475 and that will be the BEST you can do.

A word about the 3.5" hard drive:  That 750GB drive is SATA2 (3Gb/s).  While a modern 1TB SATA3 (6Gb/s) drive or 2.5" SSD would reassure performance, that would require later technical advice.

PS<>  10 year old systems are difficult to form a reality opinion on what is best. That is why I worried.

Your actually extremely lucky.  There was a production run of the motherboard used in your computer ( you escaped it) that had a faulty hard drive sata controller chip.

@Benfitz,

After I thought about this for 10 seconds, I got serious.  I thought you were kidding, really?

1) That circa 2009 unit does not support any Ryzen CPU.  See the specs page.

2) HP motherboard stand-offs are setup for a micro ATX board.

3) If you change motherboard, you lose all right s to WIN 7 OS.  Of course WIN 7 is obsolete. (Jan 14, 20202).

4) If you were asking about your motherboard and that AMD card, the answer is "NO".   Your present BIOS is called Legacy, and it can never to upgrade to the newer UEFI BIOS needed by modern cards.

@Wb2001
Thank you. I’m new to this so I had no idea. Sorry for the stupid questions. My last question is: Is this PC upgradable at all? If it is can you tell me what the best upgrades would be. Once again, I am new to this, so if it is obvious, I’m sorry.
