HP Pavilion P2 Model P2-1113W
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I was inquiring about upgrading my computer to Windows 10 from 7. But my computer it seems is not supported by HP for Windows 10. It was suggested by a volunteer moderator to ask the community if anyone has upgraded their HP computer, model like mine, P2-1113W to Windows 10. If so, what results did they get? Does anyone have any input? Thank you.

You're very welcome.

All I can say is that I have HP PC's much older than yours that are running the latest version of W10 (v1909) just fine.

Each model is different.  There can be no 'one size fits all' answer.

There are newer PC's than yours that have issues with W10 for example.

The only way to find out is to take the plunge, and retreat to W7 if it doesn't work.

However, I certainly wouldn't pay $139 to upgrade to W10 unless you try it out first, and can't get the free upgrade using the info on the link I posted the other day.

Hi:

I don't have your model PC, but I took a look at the specs and it appears to me that W10 will install all of the drivers for the devices that PC has.

If you want to experiment, you can see if you can still get the free upgrade to W10.

See this link...I was able to get the free upgrade this past July.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/

Then click on the blue update now button at the link below.

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option.

As long as you don't delete any files, you will have 30 days to go back to W7 in case W10 does not perform to your expectations.

You may want to use the free Macrium Reflect software to create a system image of your current W7 installation before experimenting.  Save the image to a portable hard drive.

https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree

The software will also have you create a bootable DVD or USB rescue drive that you boot from to access the system image you created.

Then restoring the PC to its current configuration is a very simple process.

Thanks for the reply, Paul. I was told by a Microsoft community moderator that while my system may have the requirements to upgrade, the minimum requirements will not really suffice, as Windows 10 will not work very well unless you practically double the requirements. Otherwise my computer will not run very well with 10, and will not use all of 10 capabilities. Any comments Paul?

Paul,

Thanks for the reply. You're right, I wouldn't pay for the upgrade with not knowing how it will perform. Therefore, when I decide to make a move, I will make the change without paying for the upgrade. It certainly seems possible to do so from what I can see? At least it's worth the try. Thank you, Paul.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

It is definitely worth the try.

As I wrote the other day, the info on that link worked for me this past July.
