Hi,
Your system and chipset will not support 3rd gen. CPUs.
According to manual for your PC here are the supported CPUs:
- Intel Core i7-2600 (3.40 GHz, 8MB cache, 4 cores)
- Intel Core i5-2500 (3.30 GHz, 6MB cache, 4 cores)
- Intel Core i5-2400 (3.10 GHz, 6MB cache, 4 cores)
- Intel Core i3-2120 (3.30 GHz, 3MB cache, 2 cores)
- Intel Core i3-2100 (3.10 GHz, 3MB cache, 2 cores)
Hope it helps,
David

Hi, @Zero-X-Saber :
I have always wondered about that myself, as I have two 8200 Elite CMT's.
While I agree that the specs only list Intel 2nd generation core processors as supported, there is one thing that has always had me thinking...
BIOS v2.06 added a microcode update for Intel processors, but it doesn't give any further info.
And my 8200 Elite came with the best processor available...the i7-2600 with an older BIOS revision than 2.06.
You can see that from the BIOS revision history link below...
The Intel H61 chipset supports 3rd generation core processors, and the Q67 chipset our PC's have is better--providing such improvements such as sata 6.0 GBPS support on SATA ports 0 and 1.
However this document clearly states that: For desktop boards based on the Intel® Q67 Express Chipset, Intel® Q65 Express Chipset, or Intel® B65 Express Chipset, upgrading to a 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processor is not possible.

So, thanks for asking the question, which caused me to look into this matter more thoroughly.
