Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598V2AV)

Dear HP Customer Support,

I am writing to formally express my profound dissatisfaction with the performance and service provided for my HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0147AX . The issues with this laptop have been numerous and unresolved, and I am demanding an immediate replacement.

Since purchasing the laptop from Lulu Connect, Ernakulam, in October last year, I have faced numerous problems:

  • The touchpad was replaced.
  • The fan was replaced.
  • An internal short on the power button was repaired.
  • The battery backup issue persists despite the battery being replaced.

Most recently, the service center initially claimed that a bug in an update was causing the battery issue, suggesting that I either wait for the next update or reset the laptop, which I disagreed with. After significant delays and numerous inquiries, they eventually agreed to replace the motherboard.

During this period, I followed customer care support's advice and performed battery calibration twice, with each calibration requiring six hours of my time. Despite providing detailed calibration reports and IDR logs, the issue remains unresolved. The latest explanation—that the reduced battery backup is due to the laptop's design, when it previously provided three hours of backup—appears to be a misleading attempt to evade responsibility. The case was closed with this unsatisfactory response, despite my extensive efforts and time spent on this matter.

Furthermore, the service center has now informed me that resolving the battery issue post-motherboard replacement would require resetting the laptop, which poses a significant risk of data loss. This adds yet another layer of frustration and inconvenience, as I would potentially lose critical data.

It appears that HP is employing tactics to avoid addressing the issue while my warranty is still valid, potentially delaying resolution until the warranty expires. This not only reflects poorly on the company's customer service but also suggests a deliberate strategy to avoid providing a satisfactory remedy.

The defective laptop has severely impacted my work-from-home situation. Frequent electricity outages, combined with the battery backup issue, have forced me to miss work, resulting in salary deductions. Additionally, the need to travel from Irinjalakuda to Thrissur for repairs has incurred significant travel expenses, time loss, and health issues. The risk of data loss due to the required laptop reset further compounds my frustration.

As a consumer, I have the right to expect a product that is free from defects and to receive a satisfactory remedy when defects are present. Your failure to address these defects properly is a violation of these consumer rights.

Given that the laptop is still under warranty for one more month, I am demanding an immediate replacement laptop. If this demand is not met, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action. This includes filing a formal complaint with consumer protection authorities and seeking redress through legal channels for the sale of a defective product.

I expect a proper response within 24 hours. This situation is unacceptable, and I anticipate prompt action to resolve it. Please address this matter urgently, or I will escalate it further.
