Hp 3500 SERIES MT
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Desktop didnot recognize the usb wired mouse & keyboard.. During booting it is showing keyboard error... same keyboard work with another pc.. but none of the keyboards working with this pc... No led indication

 

Cannot go to Bios setup and change the settings (assume the legacy usb deactivated in Bios setup)

 

Any solution

Hi:

 

Since the PC does not come with any PS/2 ports, it would not make any sense to me that the legacy USB port setting is disabled by default.

 

So, the only suggestion I can offer, would be to open up the PC, and clear the CMOS by moving the applicable jumper, and see if that resolves the problem.

I think the bios is corrupt

Hi guys,

 

I jump in the discussion, as I had a painfull time at trying to fix a similar front pane USB ports trouble lately. My conclusion was, sadely, that the USB controler suffered from an ESD shock, preventing it from connectiong anymore with a keyboard or a mouse. Thanks to the experience, I would suggest to check that the hardware is not faulty, too.

 

Did you observed the same beahaviour on all your USB ports?

 

Have you upgraded the BIOS by yourself with a not genuine BIOS ? If not, an "auto-corruption" of the BIOS is very unlikely. What makes you suspect that the BIOS might be faulty?
