I am into using Windows retail licenses and I reinstall the apps from scratch with every new OS. Otherwise I use the external HP recovery media to load HD/SSD and then install my apps. I typically use multiple HDs with my data on one HD and the OS on another. That way I can boot up different OSs and still have access to current data.
You might want to look at PCMover as it has been improved.

Thanks for your comments. Based on the approach you describe above, it makes me realize that I may have misunderstood some of your suggestions I've read. Do you have direct experience using Acronis True Image, Macrium Reflect, Paragon, PCMover or other imaging software?
Thanks
David

Hi,
I have used Paragon and PCMover. Paragon HDM 15 Professional is my main go to product for many tasks.
