I just received my new Omen 870-213w and am trying to connect to my monitor using hdmi. I have plugged the cord into every hdmi outlet on the back of the computer (there seem to be 3) but to no avail. My monitor has two outlets and I have tried them both. I’m about to return this unit as defective. Any ideas?

Firstly your computer has 3 HDMI ports but ONLY one port is active, 2 ports which sit next to other are disabled because your machine has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 card.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 has following ports
- Dual Link DVI-D
- HDMI
- 3 DisplayPort
HDMI port should work but before return it please try DVI or Displayport. I don't think they disabled the HDMI port but please try other ports first.
Regards.

Actually I found the solution by calling Amazon support. The VGA connection on my monitor had to be connected to the DVI connection on my graphics card. Problem solved. Who would have thought. HDMI direct link did not work.
